He left the NHS 3 years ago, but is currently an honorary consultant at Watford General. His private office and secretary are based at Spire Bushey Hospital, where he consults. He also works at the Platinum Medical Centre at The Wellington Hospital.

Dr Nathan is trained in clinical cardiology, specialising within interventional electrophysiology, having been involved in this sub-speciality since it started. He looks after all sorts of patients with arrhythmias and also implantable pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators.

Dr Nathan has a major interest in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary disease. He is fully involved in the care of patients with other cardiac problems including hypertension, cardiac failure and so on. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in London. He qualified from medical school at the Middlesex Hospital in London in 1975, obtaining his membership of the Royal College of Physicians two years later and Fellowship subsequent to that.

Niall Keenan, MD FESC | Consultant Cardiologist

Cardiac MRI, Echocardiography, General Cardiology, Heart Failure

Niall Keenan qualified from Oxford in 2001. He then trained in cardiology in London and also in Paris. He specialises in all aspects of cardiac imaging (echocardiography, cardiac CT and MRI). He has had subspeciality training in advanced heart failure in a transplant centre. Now a consultant at Watford General Hospital, his clinical interests are heart failure, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and stress testing for the evaluation of chest pain and breathlessness. His research interests are mainly related to cardiac MRI. Outside work his interests include sailing, music and literature, and he is active in a several charities

Anthony Chow, MD FRCP | Consultant Cardiologist

Cardiac Electrophysiology, Atrial Fibrillation, Pacemakers and ICDs

Dr Chow graduated from the Royal Free Hospital and had specialist training in general cardiology, coronary interventional, devices and electrophysiology at St Mary’s Hospital (North West Thames).

He has over 15 years of consultant experience in treating patients with heart failure, complex devices and all spectrums of arrhythmias with drug and ablation therapy. He is the clinical lead for pacing and implantable device for 4 years at The Barts Heart Centre, created clinical pathways, operating protocols and audits for improvements in outcomes for the entire department. He is considered as one of the top mentors for specialist trainees in the department.

He is actively engaged in clinical research and development, he still oversees clinical research and supervises PhD students. He is a University of London examiner for higher degrees and a peer reviewer for medical journals.

Special interests and treatments

Dr Chow is particularly interested in complex device development and research and mapping and substrate ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.

He performs the following procedures:

  • Simple arrhythmias: SVT, flutter ablation

  • Complex arrhythmia management: atrial fibrillation ablation therapy, VT/ectopic mapping and ablation

  • Cardiac Devices: Pacemakers, CRT and ICD implants, leadless devices

  • Lead extraction, left atrial appendage occlusion device implants
